Trissur: Carnatic singer K.J Yesudas was not permitted to enter Sri Krishna Temple in Kerala as he is a born Christian. The Temple rules out entry to those who do not belong to Hindu Sanatan Dharma, in a strict code.
Janaseva Munnani, an endowment body, has taken up this issue by sitting in Dharna on May 1st in front of the famed Kerala Krishna temple, Soman Pillai told reporters as its founder.
Yesudas has sung in praise of Guruvayurappan. He is the Asthana Vidwan in many temples, Pillai elaborated.
He received special honors in Kollur Mookambika temple, as he celebrated his birthday for 30 years with songs there.
But why the Kerala Krishna temple is discriminating, Pillai asked. The Guruvayoorappan temple authorities did not respond.
