Bangalore: The United Breweries(UB) city built on V. Mallya Road is being sold for lease, with the original ownership retained by baron Vijay Mallya, sources close to him told on Wednesday. There is a fixed period during which the leaseholder can enjoy possession of the newly built city behind the Vittal Mallya hospital in city.
Talks are on with lease provisions. For a sum of Rs650 crores in investment, with reputed two companies-Black Stone(American) and KKR, Germany, sources added.
Mallya faces divine scorn and his stars are on the decline, hence he worshipped at a Ganesha temple near his UB Towers. He is sailing in adverse waters at present, due to certain defects in his life and he conducts fire rituals at home to ward off evils, sources informed.
Mallya’s Kingfisher airlines business is at its nadir, and has lost its size and shape among other airlines.
His ‘Bag-piper’ whiskey which used to sell briskly at one time, has now come down from the first place on world reckonings.
