Mangalore : Even as the broad daylight ATM burglary in the heart of the city  near the Milagres bus stop some time back is still afresh in public minds, there has been an attempt to burgle a Canara Bank ATM adjacent to the HP petrol bunk at Balmatta in Mangalore.

The incident is learnt to have taken place on the night of May 5, Saturday. Though there were two ATMs, including that of Dhanalaxmi Bank, the burglars had chosen to target only the Canara Bank ATM. The security guard of the ATM  who reported to duty on Sunday morning found that the ATM machine was broken.

The Kadri police who arrived at the spot said initial investigations have revealed that cash has not been stolen. The CCTV footage of the  ATM centre is expected to give a clue regarding the burglars.
