Mangalore: MG Hegde, State Secretary of the JD(S) has alleged that there was widespread corruption and irregularities in the Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on May 10, Thursday, he said that the KFDC which claims that it was incurring losses and was denying allowances to its employees on that pretext was however paying taxes for earning profit.
Hegde further said rules were let to the wind while awarding tenders. He also wanted to know why the chief minister had stayed the transfer of officials of KFDC.
He also appealed to the chief minister to ensure necessary steps to check corruption in the Corporation.
JD(S) office bearers including Shashiraj Shetty and MD Aslam were present.
