Mangalore: International Nurses Day was celebrated by the Nursing Service Department of Fr Muller Medical College of Mangalore on May 12, Saturday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the Lady with the Lamp. The theme of the Day was ‘Closing the Gap: From Evidence to Action.”

Various programmes were organized for a week as part of Nurses Week at the institute.  Dr Paul K A, Deputy Medical Superintendent,   Darryl Aranha, Seemati Paul, Assistant Nursing Superintendent and others were present on the occasion.

Various  contests were also conducted. Sr Lucy Rodrigues, former Nursing Superintendent,  a  veteran nurse was honored for her  significant contribution towards the nursing profession. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions.
