Mangalore : Legislative Council Chairman and Graduates constituency candidate D H Shankar Murthy expressed confidence of emerging victorious in the South –West graduates and teachers constituency in the State Legislative Council Elections.
He was speaking at the press meet held at District BJP office on May 15, Tuesday, he said that BJP had planned to cover 29 assembly segments in their constituency and 22 constituencies have been already completed. As personal interaction with voters will be virtually impossible, party workers through corner meetings among others should highlight the achievements of the BJP, he said.
He further said that when he was the MLC for 4 tenures, 184 colleges were in existence which created history in the state and more than one lakh students are pursuing their education.
Till date we have created 65,000 jobs in the state and the graduates as soon as they have completed their graduation have benefited from such camps. In our tenure we have maintained the track record of our work,” he stressed.
Speaking on the publicity campaign, he said that the voters had welcomed them with the respect and love, which encouraged them in their campaign. The campaign will continue further in the same manner, he said.
Speaking about the enrollment of the members for the constituency, he said that he had earlier printed 3.5 lakhs forms and distributed to various government and colleges, to inspire the them for membership.
There are some internal misunderstanding and clashes, but it has never affected for the development of the state and party. The state has seen various developments in different fields in the presence of BJP led State Government, he said.
Deputy Speaker in the Legislative Assembly N Yogish Bhat, BJP spokesperson Monnappa Bhandary, District BJP president Padmanabha Kottari, Captain Ganesh Karnik contestant of South-west teacher’s constituency and BJP unit president Srikar Prabhu were present.
