Mangalore : The Udupi district unit of the Janata Dal (S) celebrated the 80th birthday of its National President and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda  on May 18, Friday, in a befitting manner. JD(S) office bearers led by the Udupi  District party president Deviprasad Shetty and  party leader and former MLA UR Sabhapathi distributed fruits to the patients at the Government Hospital at Ajjarkad. On behalf of the party, lunch was also served to the inmates of the State Home at Nittoor.

Several party leaders including Jayakar Parkala,Vasudeva Rao, Manjula Prasad and Shalini Shetty Kenchanoor were present.
