Mangalore : Mangalore based Nagma Fareed Malik, the new ambassador to Tunisia, will take charge of the new post shortly. 

Nagma, an IFS officer of the 1992 batch is a proud daughter of Mohammed and Zola of Kerala and now settled in Delhi. She is strongly associated with Mangalore since she is niece of noted Kannada writer Sara Abubakker.

Mohammed and Zolan is blessed with 3 children, who have gained fame in various fields. Nagma has passed the IAS exams, while her elder brother is an engineer in US and her younger brother is serving in Indian navy as Wing Commander.

Nagma has earlier worked as a UN representative in the Paris office of the Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry and also in the Sri Lanka and Nepal embassies.

She was working in India’s embassy office at Bangkok in Thailand before her appointment as the Ambassador to Tunisia.
