Mangalore : Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurupura Sri Vajradehi Mutt, who has highly appreciated the contributions of the Tulu threatre towards the promotion of Tuluva culture, has said that the Tulu plays while entertaining have also helped in bringing about a social change.
He was speaking at a function organized at the Town hall in Mangalore recently to commemorate the 200th show of the Tulu play ‘Buddhi Budaye’ of Namma Kalavider, Bedra team. The function was held on behalf of the Gurupur Sri Vajradehi Pratishtana.
On this occasion, Umesh Mijar, Manager of Namma Kalavider, was felicitated by the swamiji . Even artistes, and technicians were honored.
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel presided over the function. Among those present on the occasion were Umanath A Kotian, Tulu Sahitya Academy President, Yogish Shetty Jeppu, President of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, Srikar Prabhu, Srikar Shetty, Sharan Pumpwell, Jagadish Shenava, B Chethan Rai, film star, Dayanand Kattalsar, Tulu Academy President and Ratnadev Punjalakatte, journalist.
