Mangalore : Normal life in several parts of the Mangalore and Udupi was disrupted during the ’’Bharat Bandh’’ called by a BJP party today in protest against fuel price hike.
The commercial establishments, several parts of the in the city were closed down. Essential services such as milk and pharmacies were exempted from participating in the strike, in spite of which some of the pharmacies remained closed.
Public buses and autorickshaws did not ply, making problem to the common people.
The security measures were tightened up by the police department to make sure that the bundh is peaceful.
The bundh was peaceful and no untoward incidents were reported so far in the city.
