Mangalore/Udupi :  The nationwide bundh call given by the BJP led NDA and also the Left parties has disrupted normal life in various parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on May 31, Thursday.

Shops and business establishments remain closed while even schools and colleges unable to function due to non-availability of conveyance systems.

City buses are completely off the roads of the city which are wearing a deserted look. The Bundh has remained peaceful so far with the police department ensuring adequate security arrangements.

A number of weddings are also being held this day and people attending the wedding are likely to face a great deal of inconvenience though the parties which have give the bundh call have said that  wedding vehicles would be exempted from the bundh.

In Udupi too buses have remained off the roads and just a few private vehicles are seen on the road.
