Udupi: The future of the popular T-20 format of cricket would be in danger if the recent media reports of match fixings are proved, said former Indian wicket keeper Syed Kirmani.
He was speaking to reporters during his visit to the city to attend the inaugural of a cricket tournament organized by the KRS Cricket Academy at Katapady on May 30, Wednesday. Kirmani also visited a cricket training camp being held at Nehru Maidan, Palligudde-Katapady.
The game of cricket can reach greater heights when the batsman and the bowler play the game with the true spirit of sportsmanship, he said.
Katapady Shanker Poojari, Udupi Zilla Panchayat President, Vasanth Salian, former minister, Uday Kumar, President of KRS Cricket Academy, Dr Ganesh Kamath, Dinesh Karkera and others were present.
