Mangalore : The sudden appearance of a bison in the premises of the Mangalore Airport in Bajpe on the morning of Thursday shocked the authorities of the airport.

According to airport sources, the bison entered the runway from the nearby woods and began running along it, causing panic among airport workers.

However, the airport authorities took immediate steps to make the runway safe for landing flights.

M. R. Vasudeva Rao, director of Mangalore Airport, said that the bison has gone away and everything is back to normal. He added that forest officers have already arrived to catch the bison.
