Mangalore : The law keeping mechanism alone cannot solve the problems of the Naxal affected areas ; instead every possible effort need to be made to study the problems of the people residing in these areas and find solutions to the same, said Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy.
Addressing a meeting of district level officials at the DK Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangalore on June 1, Friday, he emphasized the need for a co-coordinative scheme with the co-operation of all the government deparments to find solution to the people of 12 Naxal affected villages of DK district.
He said some changes can be brought about if all the departments reserve at least 10 per cent of their funds towards the development of Naxal affected areas. Lest, the public contact meets held in such areas would be meaningless, he added.
He further said he has personally visited the Naxal affected areas and has studied the problems He further suggested the Information Department to frame programmes which will help in creating awareness among the people of Naxal affected area.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Channappa Gowda and DK Zilla Panchayat CEO KN Vijayaprakash assured to do their level best to work towards the development of Naxal affected areas.
ZP CEO also informed that arrangements would be made to set up Anganavadis, hold health camps and public contact meets.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Dayanand, ASP Anucheth, DCF Palayya and other officials were present.
