Mangalore : The MCC officials were caught by a surprise when the  autorickshaw they intercepted  near Kankanady on the charges of transporting beef unauthorisedly, following a tip off,  found to be legally transporting the beef to the Kankanady market.

The MCC officials though found the official seal of the MCC slaughter house, rechecked to find out if it was fake by summoning workers fro the butchery and even a  veterinary doctor was called to examine the meat.

Though the beef was returned, the autorickshaw has been seized.
