Mangalore :  Belthangady cops have busted a racket of inter-state dacoits and have arrested seven persons including three women. The arrest took place near Charmady check post. The arrested have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.

The arrested are Saroja (44), Kavitha (28), Manjula (35),  N Basavraj (23), Lokesh (24), Ganesh (25) and Srinivas alias Sheena (25), all from  Tamil Nadu.

According to the police the arrested were wanted in connection with several cases of theft and dacoity including the looting of a person near Ujire last month wherein cash of over Rs 6000, ATM and mobile phone had been robbed.
The arrest took place at the direction of SP Abhishek Goel and ASP Anucheth.
