Mangalore: ZP Chief Executive Officer Dr KN Vijayaprakash has urged women to give more attention to their health matters, as usually women neglect their health while taking care of their families.
Speaking after inaugurating the World Health Day programmes at the Netravathi Auditorium of the ZP under the auspices of the District Administration and Department of Health and Family Welfare, Vijayaprakash also said that the health related schemes introduced by the government can be termed successful only when they reach even the last man in the society.
He also emphasized the need to ensure better health care facilities in rural areas as well as Naxal affected areas.
Dr. O. R. Shrirangappa, District Health Officer, said the theme of the programme was “good health adds life to years.”
Prizes were awarded to the best performers in the health sector. The Ullal Primary Health Centre bagged the Best PHC Award while Dr Naveen Kumar of the same PHC bagged the Best Doctor Award. However majority of the awards went to Sullia taluk. Ladygoschen Hospital in Mangalore bagged the Best Government Hospital Award at the district level.
