Mangalore : A total polling per centage of 53.31 and 57.47 was registered in Dakshina Kannada district, in the elections to the South West Graduates and Teachers Constituencies respectively, held on June 10, Sunday.
In all 6,322 voters cast their votes in the graduates’ constituency and 2,817 in the teachers’ constituency. Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda exercised his franchise in Puttur.
Udupi recorded a total polling percentage of 56.9 in Teachers constituency and 52.65 in graduates’ constituency. Polling in both the districts were peaceful.
However DK was rocked by some rumours like tampering of votes and deletion of names of several voters, which ultimately proved false.
