Bangalore: There has been a major setback for Vittal Malekudiya, a post graduate student of Mangalore University who has been arrested on charges of Naxal links. The High Court on Monday denied the interim bail for Vittal, in response to his bail petition stating he had to attend classes.  The main appeal for bail was adjourned.

During the hearing, the advocate for the government said Vittal should not be granted bail as there were strong evidences that he was a Naxal supporter and had sheltered Naxals and also attended training camps.

He further added Vittal has to remain behind bars as the investigation was still in progress.
