Mangalore : A tragedy that struck a family at Hosadurg in Chikmagalur in January this year, has left two little boys to fend for themselves in this whole world. If their mother died of electrocution when their father pushed her onto an electric wire, little Tanu who was on his mother’s arms too sustained grievous injuries. The father Nagaraj who absconded soon after never returned, leaving the children orphaned.
Tanu is still being treated for the burn injuries at Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore and he is being looked after by none else than his brother Shashi with the help of kind hearted staff and nurses at Wenlock Hospital. Though the two kids have grandparents, the latter who had visited the hospital once had left with whatever cash Shashi had. In fact it were some kind hearted people who had given the donation to Shashi.
Even one Prakash who had come along with the boys earlier, was missing since one month. It was nothing but the compassionate staff of Wenlock who have been a ray of hope for Shashi and Tanu who are somehow managing.
Abject poverty at home had led to discontinuation of Shashi’s study from second standard and he still nurtures a desire to study. It is learnt, once Tanu is discharged, the boys will be handed over to the CWC which will take care of them.
