Mangalore : As part of its plans to celebrate the ‘Year of Germany in India’ BASF organized an inter-school essay contest in Mangalore with an objective of developing an interest in Chemistry among students.
Nearly 100 students from 25 schools both public and private in Mangalore and around took part in the contest, the topic for which was announced on the spot.
Prasad Chandran, Chairman, BASF Companies in India and Head, South Asia, outlined the several programmes of BASF in order to kindle an interest in science among students. He also spoke of the Kids’ lab organized by BASF every year.
Winners will be awarded at a special function during the Bangalore stop of the Indo-German Urban Mela. Winners will also get an opportunity to visit and participate in BASF Kids Lab, a hands-on chemistry lab, set up at the BASF pavilion in Bangalore.
