Bangalore: Legislators CT Ravi and Appachu Ranjan have set Saturday as the deadline for the Chief Minister to go in for a cabinet expansion.
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, the two MLAs who seemed upset over what they termed as a delay in cabinet expansion, alleged that the BJP was putting off the cabinet expansion though it was often discussed.
Ravi said though the party had assured to go in for cabinet expansion by June 16, as of now that seems remote. He also reminded the party leadership of the fact that only ten months were left for the BJP tenure to end.
He also said if the cabinet was not expanded by June 16, they would take up the issue with the party’s central leadership. A delegation of 15 MLAs would then leave for Delhi and complain to the high command on the delay and also on cross voting during MLC polls, they said.
The two MLAs also alleged that loyalists and sincere party leaders have been given a backseat while opportunists were ruling the scene.
Another demand placed forth by the two MLAs was to initiate action against 12 MLAs who resorted to cross voting during MLC elections.
