Udupi : Two persons lost their lives in accidents in Udupi district which witnessed heavy rains on Monday. In an incident reported from Kandlur in Kundapur, a person named Shekhar Poojari met a tragic end when he slipped and fell into the overflowing river.

Incidentally, Shekhar Poojari was an expert swimmer who had saved several lives earlier, but unfortunately lost his life due to drowning.

In another case, one Shashikanth Acharya (26), an engineering student died after he was electrocuted when he touched the wire of an electric pump in his house.

Another woman named Sheena Poojari of Chitrapadi sustained injuries when a tree fell over an electricity pole which crushed her leg. The injured has been admitted to Manipal hospital.
