Bangalore: The CBI has requested the High Court not to grant anticipatory bail to former CM Yeddyurappa, his sons and son-in-law who have failed to reply satisfactorily to the CBI interrogation in connection with the kickbacks their Trust allegedly received from Jindal company.
The single member bench led by Justice Subhash B Adi took up for hearing the bail petition of Yeddy, his sons and son-in-law. However, the advocate for CBI argued that they should not be granted bail as there was even the chances of them exerting their influence on the witnesses and also destroying evidences.
The advocate had also pointed out that though the state government had banned mining export in 2010, the sons of Yeddyurappa had entered into an agreement with the Jindal company the same year with regard to land purchase.
