Mangalore: A group of students of Bright Tutorials in Mangalore, allegedly assaulted a member of the faculty as well as a bus driver on June 21, Thursday, reportedly agitated over the  management of the institution which declared holidays in the wake of the Jail Bharo agitation of the BJP on June 22.

The institution which also has boarding facilities for students has students from even far off places like Hubli, Dharwad, Davangere and Bellary.  It is learnt, on Thursday the management asked the students to return to their native places and return the coming week.

The institution, it is learnt, has already completed classes for 22 days and it collects a fee of Rs 7000 including tuition, food and accommodation.

They reportedly were unhappy over the declaration of holiday, picked up a quarrel and this led to the attack on a member of a faculty and the bus driver of Karavali College.

Police who rushed to the spot, brought the situation under control. No case has been registered.

Bright Tutorials is housed in a portion of the building rented out by Karavali College.
