Bangalore: In a major setback to the Karnataka Government, its minister for Law and Urban Developement Suresh Kumar, hitherto known as Mr Clean, quit his ministership and has tendered resignation to the Chief Minister on Saturday morning.
The resignation follows a complaint against the minister stating he had purchased BDA site in G Category unauthorisedly. An RTI activist named Bhasker had lodged a complaint stating that the minister had purchased a 4000 square feet site with present market value of Rs 4 cores for Rs 10 lakhs.
Suresh Kumar has said he has tendered resignation owning moral responsibility and added he will not like to be a minister until he was absolved of the charges.
With the resignation of Suresh Kumar, the Chief Minister who is already burdened with over 20 portfolios, gets the addition of two more portfolios.
