Mangalore: Mangalore Bishop Rev Aloysius Paul D’Souza has strongly condemned the attack on the Holy Hill shrine near Nantur on June 25, Monday.
The Bishop has described the incident as nothing but an effort to disrupt peace in the society. He said he was deeply hurt over the incident and regretted that despite appeal to the administration to ensure steps to prevent such attacks, such incidents have been recurring.
He once again made an ardent appeal to the district administration to provide protection to religious shrines.
Meanwhile, several leaders including Denis D’Silva, President of International Federation of Karnataka Christians Associations, Ivan D’Souza, Congress leader and Stany Alvares, President of Mandd Sobhann visited the Holy Hill Shrine and condemned the attack in the strongest possible words.
It has been learnt that the Mangalore Police Commissioner has formed three special teams to zero in on the culprits responsible for the attack. The teams are led by Vinay Gaonkar, Bunder Inspector, Venkatesh Prasanna, CCB Inspector and Ravish Naik., Rural police station inspector.
