Vittal : Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Channappa Gowda has set July 15 as the deadline for the  shopkeepers to vacate encroachments in order to facilitate the road widening works in the town. The DC has said the tender process can begin  by July end once the encroachments are cleared.

This was informed at a meeting between shopkeepers and government officials held in the presence of  Puttur MLA Mallika Prasad and DC Channappa Gowda.

The DC on the occasion asked the shopkeepers to clear encroachments  so that a 50 feet wide roundabout could be made at the intersection of four roads in the town.

Probationary ASP of Vittal Dr Divya V Gopinath, Gopal Nayak, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Engineer, Vittal Town Panchayat President Ramanath Vittal, Tahsildar Anand Nayak  and others were present.
