Bangalore: The political stalemate in the state continues even after the arrival of Dharmendra Pradhan, in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka. The talks which Pradhan has held with leaders of either factions in the state BJP has so far not delivered any positive result.
It has been learnt that an appeal made by Pradhan to the dissident groups to be patient until the presidential elections were over, went unheard of. He, it is learnt, has also placed forth a proposal for cabinet expansion so that Jagadish Shettar could be accommodated as the Deputy Chief Minister. However, the dissident faction led by Yeddyurappa has not made its stand clear as far as this proposal is concerned.
On the other hand, State BJP Chief Eshwarappa said the people of the state were fed up with this frequent political drama in the state which would affect the party image to a great extent.
Meanwhile, the crisis has further deepened with even ministers loyal to Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda threatening to quit in case the CM was changed.
At present all eyes are towards the party high command at Delhi waiting for its decision regarding the current impasse.
