Mangalore: On July 2, Monday, MCC officials who until now targeted unauthorized shops and business establishments chose to target student hostels and paying guest facilities in the city. The hostels and PG accommodations at Bejai and Kodialbail areas of Mangalore.
The first target was the Expert PU College Hostel and it was found that it neither had a valid license and the kitchen was located in the area meant to be a parking slot. The raiding team warned the management to maintain hygiene and also secure a valid license.
Later, another paying guest facility and RK Residency at Kodialbail was raided and the team found lack of hygiene in both the places. As in earlier cases, in Monday’s raids officials could not seal the hostels in the better interest of students and could only issue a warning
An official in the raiding team said the raids were conducted as per a decision taken at the MCC meeting and also in the case of increasing incidents of Malaria and dengue in the city.
