Udupi: A leopard  which was caught in a trap laid for  rabbits at Anjaru village near Hiriadka, has been rescued by the officials of Pilikula and forest department on July 7, Saturday.

The leopard which might have possibly fallen into the trap on Friday night was found very week and was later let in the forests in Someshwar.

Locals said the leopard was on the prowl in the area since about a month and was responsible for the missing of several domestic animals.
