Bangalore: A private petition has been filed against chief minister elect Jagadish Shettar in the Lokayukta court accusing him of going in for illegal land denotification during the regime of the BJP-JD(S) coalition government in the state.
The Court which accepted the petition filed by SM Chetan, a journalism student in Bangalore, has adjourned the hearing for July 21. As per the complaint, the government had acquired 356 acre land including 188 acre of private land in Dasanapura-Yashwanthpur hobali of Bangalore taluk for a proposed mega market yard. However, Shettar when was the Revenue Minister in the BJP –JD(S) coalition government it was decided to denotify the land as per the instructions of the minister. It was alleged that the l86.91/2 acre land was later denotified without bringing the matter to the notice of the cabinet, thus helping some private party.
