Bangalore: State BJP President and Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa has clarified that the name of Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty was never under consideration to be included in the new cabinet. This remark from Eshwarappa came after Halady Srinivas Shetty offered to tender his resignation deeply hurt after being deprived of a cabinet berth even after summoning him to Bangalore

Eshwarappa said so while speaking to reporters after his entry into his new office after offering a special pooja.  He also clarified that none of the BJP leaders had promised a cabinet berth for Halady. He further said he was unaware as to who summoned Halady to Bangalore. Eshwarappa also claimed that Shetty had never aspired for a cabinet berth despite being a three time MLA.

Meanwhile, Shetty has said that he was firm in his decision to quit and added he would tender his resignation to Assembly speaker Bopaiah no sooner he returns from Madikeri.
