Mangalore : Rich tributes were paid to veteran journalist U Narasimha Rao who passed away  recently, at a function held at Press Club. Rao had served as correspondent of The Hindu.

Senior journalist Malar Jayaram Rai, spoke about his association with late Rao. Govind Belgaunkar, Bureau Chief, The Hindu, Raghuram Rao, Senior Assistant Editor, DNA Newspaper, Mangalore and B Ravindra Shetty of Vijaya Karnataka, also spoke.

Late Rao had worked for newspapers such as ‘The Times of India’, ‘The Mail’, ‘Matrubhoomi’, ‘The Hindu’, ‘Kannada Vani’, ‘Kannada Sahakaari’, and ‘Rashtramatha’. He had even worked for the All India Radio as a correspondent. He had served as Secretary of South Kanara District Journalists’ Association and President of DK Working Journalists’ Union
