Bangalore: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajith Singh has promised that a cargo terminal would come up at the old passenger terminal of the Mangalore airport at the earliest. The proposed cargo complex will handle both domestic and international cargo.

Singh who was speaking to reporters in the capital said cold storage facilities at the complex would be provided by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority.

A Cargo Complex at the old terminal of the airport was a long felt need and the matter had also come up for discussion at an exporters convention held in Mangalore recently.
