Mangalore: The CPIM workers staged a protest in Mangalore on July 19, Thursday, opposing the pathetic state of the Bibi Alabi and Market Road. The entire area has turned slushy with rotten wastes, making it unbearable to pass through the area.
Addressing the agitators, CPM leader Vasanth Acharya said the MCC has miserably failed in maintaining cleanliness in the area. He also chose to dub Mangalore City Corporation as Mangalore Naraka Palike.
The BJP rule in Mangalore, has failed to improve any situation in the city and the condition is as bad as ever, he added.
He said the MCC which was collecting revenue for waste disposal has failed to maintain cleanliness in the area. The CPM has also threatened to intensify protest if cleanliness measures were not ensured.
Several DYFI leaders including BK Imtiyaz, Sunil Kumar Bajal were also present on the occasion.
