Mangalore: Taluk Panchayat Member Mohammad Monu has informed that two out of the eight youth hailing from Dakshina Kannada district who have remained behind bars in a jail in Saudi Arabia since the past ten years, for no fault of theirs, are likely to be released within a couple of months.
Speaking to reporters, he said the youth have been fixed in case of passing and routing of telephone calls illegally and added two of them Sharif Migdad and Ayub Hussain would be released as their relatives have been able to collect a sum of Rs 28 lakhs necessary for their release.
He said the family of the two youngsters along with KPCC member MA Gafoor and others had been to Delhi last October and had met Union Minister of State for External Affairs through Oscar Fernandes and had sought help for the release of the youth.
He further said all central ministers would be approached once again for the release of the arrested.
The mothers of Ayub and Sharief and the sister of Ayub were present.
