Mangalore : The political and bureaucratic support for the town planning is very instrumental for beautifying the city, said PVK Rameshwaram, Chairman, Graduate School, CEPT University.
He was speaking after giving the video demonstration of Gujarat town planning project, he said that the team of 15 members from the CEPT University will visit the city and conduct the survey of various place for 15 days and give a master plan within 8 months to a year time.
He also said that the Mangala Corniche project will be made in the model of Sabarmathi Riverfront Development Company.
During the town planning like Gujarat, the Mangalore will also have the land acquisition method for the development. During the process, the public are invited for the discussion, the authorities will interact with the owners of the land and later the final scheme will be sent to the State Government for the approval.
The project will also give importance in preserving the historical monuments, tradition and other land marks with historical stories. The schemes will be prepared in three stages like draft scheme, preliminary scheme and final scheme.
He also said that the company requires detailed information and survey at micro level for the town planning. The land acquired owners get compensation and the small section allows housing for the backward castes, not exceeding more than 10 percent.
The development work is done only with the team effort, he said.
