Mangalore: Deputy commissioner Dr NS Channappa Gowda has said that the district administration was gearing itself up to provide the National Population Register (NPR) biometric identity cards by August. The process is expected to be complete by June 2013 and will be mandatory for all citizens aged five and above. The House list obtained under 2011 census will be the basis for the enumeration and the card will be mandatory for those who have Aadhar cards. People will be registered for the NPR cards by August 10 in Mangalore.
