Manjeshwar: Sixteen year old Pavithra hailing from Vorkady in Kasargod is suffering for no fault of hers. A health ailment has virtually left this once bubbly girl virtually crippled.
Pavithra who was a normal girl until a few years ago now has to bear with a huge tumour on her head with her poor parents finding it extremely difficult to arrange funds for her treatment.
Pavithra is the daughter of Poovappa Belchada and Chandravathi of Kedumbady in Vorkady. Poovappa is a coolie worker and of late even Pavitra’s brother has dropped out of school to join his father in work in order to sustain his family which needs more funds for the medical aid of Pavitra.
It is learnt first there was a swelling in her head which later developed the form of tumour which is highly painful.
Though a treatment at a private hospital in Mangalore last December made Pavitra recover a little, the problem has now become unbearable and doctors have advised that she be taken to NIMHANS in Bangalore. The family is now virtually struggling to arrange funds for the treatment of Pavitra, who doctors say is suffering from a cancer called sarcoma of the skull.
Kind hearted people can help Pavitra lead a normal life by extending aid for her medical treatment. Her address is Kedumbaadi House, Post Pavoor, Manjeshwar, Kasargod.
