Mangalore: Orna Sagiv, Consul General of Israel in Mumbai said there were plans to open an Israeli consulate in Bangalore in September.
Speaking at an interaction meet on ‘20 years of Indo-Israel Diplomatic Relations’ at the KCCI meeting hall on July 31, Tuesday, she said there has been a significant growth in bilateral relations between India and Israel ever since the Consulate was set up in 1992. She said out of the 78 lakh population of Israel only 2.4 per cent are farmers. She said Indian companies now have better opportunities In Israel. She also added that there were abundant opportunities in the fields of telecom, information technology and bio-technology.
