Bangalore: State Home Minister R Ashok has said that the accused in the case of attack on Morning Mist would be booked under Goonda Act.
Speaking in the Legislative Council, he said there was no question of showing any leniency to anyone accused in this case.
The Home Minister said the Morning Mist home stay was illegal and had no permission to run it.
Earlier members cutting across party lines demanded that the perpetrators of the attack be booked.
JD(S) leader Nanaiah even expressed suspicion f the Dakshina Kannada district was a separate kingdom like Bellary used to be. Even women members Motamma and Bharathi Shetty of the Congress and BJP respectively strongly condemned the incident.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women led by Mamatha Sharma, its chairperson will be sending a team to Mangalore to probe the attack. The commission has even sought a report from the DGP of the state on the incident.
