Mangalore : The Science Forum of St Agnes College(Autonomous) has embarked upon a unique programme in order to develop the creative talents of the children. It has arranged ‘Sunday Science School’, a series of hands-on science activity programmes for school children, in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Learning.The first such programme was held on August 5, Sunday.
Dr Sr Marie Prem D’Souza, Principal, who spoke on the occasion, said such programmes would go a long way in developing the creative talents in the children and help them develop an interest in science and innovation.
Severine Rozario, coordinator of the programme said students participating in the Sunday Science School would be able to develop their own science home lab in the days to come. She also taught the students to develop a mini solar car.
Nagaraj, electronic engineer, Shabitha and Joyce were the resource persons.
Children in the age group of 10 to 14 can attend the Sunday Science School wherein practical sessions will be held for 25 weeks every Sunday for two hours. The students will be guided in science projects and experiments.
