Mangalore: A landslide at Charmadi Ghat on Sunday disputed movement  of vehicles on the National Highway 235 linking Mangalore and Kadur. The landslides were the result of heavy rains that have been lashing the area since a few days. The landlside also led to traffic blockade for a few hours.

The police have made alternate arrangements for vehicles . Even an  auto-rickshaw fell into a ditch, 15 feet below the spot where the landslide occurred. Two autorickshaw drivers who were at the spot during landslide were injured. The NH authorities are working  towards clearance of the debris to facilitate smooth movement of traffic. The heavy rains  have filled several reservoirs in the state to their full capacity.
