Mangalore : A 3-day jatha was inaugurated by CPI (M) President Vasanth Achar by handing over the CPI (M) flag to Secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal near Central Market on Aug 6, Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal said that in the name of development of state and city, the BJP minister and local corporators have pocketed crores of money reserved for the state.
He also said that the BJP has never fulfilled the promise made to the people of the state and the voters, but have burgled the state.
Speaking about the jatha he said that, the jatha will visit all the 60 wards of Dakshina Kannada and will spot the people’s problems. On Aug 27, they will also organize a massive protest rally, he added.
Citing out some of the problems, he said that Mangalore City Corporation has given billing authority to a private company.
The MCC has concretized the city’s main roads, but it lacks proper footpaths and storm water drains. The building of Lady Goschen Hospital have been demolished a year back, but still the work have not commenced, hence the CPI(M) will hold protest to fight against the corruption in the state and city, he said.
BJP has set a record of changing 3 chief ministers in the past 4 years. The MCC has Congress Mayor and BJP deputy mayor and joined together to play with sentiments of people, said CPI(M) President Vasanth Achar.
