Mangalore: A private service bus Samatha , with 25 passengers coming from Udupi to Mangalore, tried to overtake another bus on the same route near Kuntikana, met with an accident by moving to the edge of the road, only to destroy a small cottage and its handicraft items stored inside (worth Rs. 20,000) on the road side.

The speeding driver of the private bus was caught and hammered by a crowd of onlookers and they handed him to the Kankanady Police, who registered a case for rash driving and seized the bus today in the afternoon.
