Karkala: Union Minister for Energy and Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily has said a sum of Rs 60 crore and Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned to DK and Udupi district respectively under Rural Electrification Scheme of the Centre.
Speaking to reporters, he said tender process has begun and the project will commence in September-October. The project would be fully implemented within the next five years, he informed.
He said the project of linking Tirthahalli-Udupi highway at Rs 137 crore, was ready and would begin no sooner the state government sent the proposal.
He said the centre supplied power to different states in unison and that power was being supplied to Karnataka as per Gadgil formula. The project of integrating the State grids to the Central grid will be complete by 2014, he informed.
