New Delhi: The Government, on Thursday, August 23, increased the SMS limit per day to 20 instead of the earlier 5. The SMS limit was enforced last week following the mass exodus of North Eastern states people from Karnataka after they received threatening SMSes.
According to a notification issued by the ministry of communication, it has been decided to revise the permissible limit of “bulk SMS/MMS to 20 in place of five with immediate effect”.
Mobile users whose number stands at 930 million in India can send 20 SMSes in one go and above 25 kb of data during the ban period, till August 31.
