Mangalore : Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) and the ICYM/YCS distributed scholarships worth Rs. 8.5 lakh among 208 PU/degree students at a scholarship disbursement program held in Shanthi Kiran Bajjodi on September 1, Saturday.
The chief guest was PRO of Bishop’s House Fr. William Menezes. Among the dignitaries on the dais were Fr. Melwyn D’Cunha, Ronald D’Souza, Francis D’Cunha, Joslyn Vas, and Nelson Monis.
Speaking about the KCWA, Pascal Monteiro said that the organization aims at providing education for the poor, owing to which it gives away scholarships to the poor and has been doing so ever since its launch in 1988.
Fr. Melwyn D’Cunha and Francis D’Cunha also spoke on the occasion and urged students to be grateful to the KCWA.
Among those present were KCWA members Elias Sanctis, Louis Lobo, Jessy Pinto, Valerian D’Souza, John Tauro, and others.
