Mangalore : Due to the continuous rain in the city, a 40 years old house located in Padil collapsed on September 2, Sunday.

The house is belonged to Lingappa Achary. The incident took place when Lingappa had gone out to buy groceries and his wife Geetha Achary was preparing food. Suddenly the roof of the house and the wall collapsed injuring her.

Geetha, is a member of the Shree Dharmasthala self-help grou and earn her living by rolling beedies.

The couple had mentally challenged son of 24 years, who had stopped working some years back.

Corporator Sudhir Kannur visited the collapsed house and family.
